Frequently asked questions

If you don’t see your question here please contact me!

I am a certified canine behavior consultant through the IAABC. I offer behavior consulting help with cats. I offer in-person help which is beginning to become more and more rare in the dog training industry as trainers and behavior consultants lean into virtual consulting. I offer a low cost text and email support program. I stay closely connected with my clients providing weekly check ins and swift responses to questions to ensure my clients feel supported and are as successful as possible.

What makes Shake On It pet behavior consulting different than other dog trainers?

Do you see clients in person and come to their home?

Yes! I can come to your home or meet you in a location of your choosing such as a park, hiking trail, etc.

How long is a session?

In-person and virtual sessions generally last an hour, though they may go as long as an hour and a half.

is there an additional fee for multiple pets?

No! There is no extra fee for multiple pets.

No! I do not charge a travel fee but there are some Utah counties that I do not service. I do not service Summit County, Wasatch County, Davis County, Weber County, Morgan County or anything further north. I do not service further south than Utah County.

Is there a travel fee?

No, the assessment fee can only be applied to in-person or virtual sessions.

Can the fee for the assessment be applied toward the text and email support program?

You have 3 months to use your unused in-person or virtual sessions, after the 3 months have expired your unused in-person or virtual session will be forfeit and can not be refunded. You may convert your unused in-person or virtual sessions into 30 days of text and email support.

Do unused in-person or virtual sessions expire?

No, refunds are not provided after any proprietary information has been shared.

Do you offer refunds?

I service Salt Lake County, Tooele County, and Utah County. I also provide nationwide service virtually or through my text and email support program.

What is your service area?

Unfortunately there are no guarantees with behavior, I can not provide a timeline on when or if you can expect any of your pet’s behaviors to be resolved in the way you hope. There are far too many variables out of our control that can slow, halt, or block progress. Anyone who claims to be able to guarantee results is not being honest, is ignorant, or is willing to do anything including inhumane methods to get results which is likely to backfire later.

Do you offer a guarantee or timelines?

I do not see separation anxiety cases and I do not teach traditional loose leash walking through neighborhoods.

What services do you not provide?

No, I do not use or advocate the use of aversive training methods or tools inc. pinch, prong, shock (e-collars), bark collars, force, intimidation (alpha rolls), or erroneous dominance/pack approaches.

Do you use shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, bark collars, etc.
